KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO Giunto alla 18esima edizione, KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO è una stagione concertistica estiva di alto profilo nata nel 2004 da un’idea e per la passione e il sostegno generoso di Roberto Furcht, affiancato da Angelo Foletto, e la partecipazione operativa di Giuliano Pellegrini, primo e fedelissimo sostenitore della rassegna. Dal 2017 è guidato da Davide Cabassi. Dedicato in particolare al pianoforte il festival è patrocinato dal Comune di Ledro, l’Apt Valle di Ledro e Garda Dolomiti, e da Kawai Pianoforti Italia Srl grazie all’amicizia e al supporto del suo presidente, Luis Clemente.
KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO è un palcoscenico per il mondo solistico internazionale, con un occhio attento ai giovani talenti. Di qui il rapporto privilegiato col Premio Busoni di Bolzano, e la consolidata collaborazione con l’Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento. Dal 2018 la programmazione è stata orientata a una proposta più ampia e ‘diffusa’ con appuntamenti legati ai luoghi naturalistici, artistici e ambientali più rappresentativi della Valle di Ledro, e il coinvolgimento dei musicisti locali.
Il nuovo progetto artistico avviato nel 2021 include la ripresa del tradizionale appuntamento invernale (Concerto di Natale) e altri appuntamenti nei periodi di Pasqua e Pentecoste. Dal 2022 KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO è realizzato in collaborazione con l’Apt Garda Dolomiti.

KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO Now in its 18th edition, KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO is a high-profile summer concert season born in 2004 from an idea and thanks to the passion and generous support of Roberto Furcht, flanked by Angelo Foletto, and the operative participation of Giuliano Pellegrini, the first and most faithful supporter of the review. Since 2017 it has been led by Davide Cabassi. Dedicated in particular to the piano, the festival is sponsored by the Municipality of Ledro, the Apt Valle di Ledro and Garda Dolomiti, and Kawai Pianoforti Italia Srl thanks to the frienship and support of it’s president, Luis Clemente.
KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO is a stage for international soloists, always with an eye to young talents. Hence the privileged relationship with the Busoni Prize of Bolzano, and the consolidated collaboration with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento. Since 2018, the programming has been oriented towards a wider and more ‘widespread’ proposal with appointments linked to the most representative naturalistic, artistic and environmental places of the Ledro Valley, and the involvement of local musicians.
The new artistic project launched in 2021 includes the resumption of the traditional winter appointment (Christmas Concert) and other appointments during the Easter and Pentecost periods. Since 2022 KAWAI A LEDRO/SUONI A LEDRO has been created in collaboration with the Apt Garda Dolomiti.

Emanuele Arciuli ”Though not an American, Emanuele Arciuli commands the biggest, most varied American repertoire of any pianist I know, probably of any pianist ever known.” (Joseph Horowitz). Con un repertorio che spazia da Bach alla musica del nostro tempo, Emanuele Arciuli è ospite regolare di festival, orchestre ed istituzioni musicali tra le più prestigiose a livello internazionale. Tra le altre: OSN della Rai, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Rotterdam Philharmonic, MDR Lipsia, Brucknerorchester Linz, Filarmonica di San Pietroburgo, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Amici della Musica di Firenze, Unione Musicale di Torino, IUC di Roma, Bologna Festival, Biennale di Venezia, MITO, Wien Modern, Berliner Festwochen, RedCats di Los Angeles. Inoltre, collabora con direttori d’orchestra quali Roberto Abbado, John Axelrod, Andrei Boreyko, Dennis Russell Davies, Diego Fasolis, Wayne Marshall, James MacMillan, Pinchas Steinberg, Juraj Valchua e molti altri. Si esibisce regolarmente anche con l’attrice Sonia Bergamasco. A proprio agio nel repertorio solistico con orchestra, in recital e in ambito cameristico, è considerato tra i massimi interpreti della musica del XX e XXI secolo, con particolare riferimento ai compositori statunitensi: sono più di cinquanta le pagine composte per lui da autori come George Crumb, Milton Babbitt, Frederic Rzewski, Michael Nyman, Michael Daugherty, John Luther Adams. Incide per Naxos, Stradivarius, Wergo, Albany, Innova, Vai, Chandos etc. Molti dei suoi progetti discografici sono dedicati ad autori americani: da ricordare sono certamenteil recente The Time Curve Preludes di Duckworth (Neuma), ‘round Midnight – Homage to Thelonious Monk (Stradivarius) acclamato dalla critica internazionale, Walk in Beauty (Innova Recording) una ricca antologia di musica americana che ha ottenuto una nomination ai Grammy Award, dopo quella già ricevuta per il CD (Bridge) dedicato a Crumb. Ha scritto diversi libri, fra cui Musica per pianoforte negli Stati Uniti (EDT), il pamphlet La bellezza della nuova musica (Dedalo) e il recente Viaggio in America (Curci). Nel 2011 gli è stato conferito il premio della critica musicale italiana “Franco Abbiati” come miglior solista dell’anno. È titolare della cattedra di pianoforte principale al Conservatorio “Piccinni” di Bari, insegna all’Accademia di Pinerolo dove coordina il biennio postgraduate di pianoforte contemporaneo, ed è professore ospite in numerose Università̀ degli Stati Uniti.

He records for Naxos, Stradivarius, Wergo, Albany, Innova, Vai, Chandos etc. Many of his recording projects are dedicated to American authors: to remember are certainly the recent The Time Curve Preludes by Duckworth (Neuma), ‘round Midnight – Homage to Thelonious Monk (Stradivarius) acclaimed by international critics, Walk in Beauty (Innova Recording) a rich anthology of American music that got a Grammy Award nomination, after the one already received for the CD (Bridge) dedicated to Crumb. He has written several books, including Piano Music in the United States (EDT), the pamphlet The Beauty of New Music (Dedalo) and the recent Journey to America (Curci). In 2011 he was awarded the prize of the Italian music critics “Franco Abbiati” as best soloist of the year. He holds the principal piano chair at the “Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari, teaches at the Academy of Pinerolo where he coordinates the two-year postgraduate course in contemporary piano, and is a guest professor at numerous universities in the United States.
